Every photo shoot is different. The idea is the same as it would be for a fashion editorial shoot. During our consultation, we’ll discuss ideas for looks, concepts for a series of pictures, etc. Most boudoir sessions are approximately 2 hours and 4 different outfits, but I do offer a 1 hour session and a 3 hour session as well. If you can change in and out of outfits quickly, we can get in more looks.
From time to time, if I have a client willing to offer her location as a "studio", I'll offer group rates of $60 per person. Typically I like to keep to a minimum of 4 ladies and the max would depend on the time allowed at the location. Based on past experience with group shoots, you may be asked to pay the session fee up front as cancellations of the few slots offered are hard to fill last minute.
I used to have an in house studio with my first home. I'd do all my portrait work their and also make all my prints from my 17" wide professional inkjet. I unfortunately had to sell that house. My next house, my studio was my 3 car garage. You'd never know from looking at my images. At present I no longer have a house with accommodations for shooting. This helps me keep my costs down which translates to lower rates for my clients.
Simply contact me either by phone or email. We will discuss what the best day and time would be and set it up. A minimum non-refundable pre-payment is required to reserve your session.
The pre-payment, in the amount of a 1hr session fee, helps guarantee that I am only booking clients who are serious about keeping their session appointment. It also guarantees that your date and time is held just for you.
We will go over everything before your session date with a consultation by phone, in person, or via email. Get rest, don't wear any tight articles of clothing that might leave marks on your skin, have your hair and make up ready.
When I show up for your session, we will take a few minutes to talk, look at the outfits you’ve selected, and quickly organize a shoot outline.
I still stand out among many others, I'm not shy about my work and I'm not trying to pull the wool over anyone's eye. Within 24hrs you will have access to a password-protected proof gallery that you can view on-line. You can download all your proofs! Many photographers won't release the unedited images but I release all proofs for your use. Only thing you're no allowed to do is sell the images. See "What can I do with the proofs?" below for more info on that. They will be available in a zipfile, a thumbnail viewer (where you can download them one by one) and a slideshow. Perhaps in the future, if there is enough demand for it, I can also have the choice of ordering prints or have your pictures made into a book or calendar, etc.
Usually the online approach is quick and easy but if you'd like a CD with the proofs on it I charge $10 per cd.
Yes. Finished, high-resolution, digital files are available at $25 each. Extensive retouching requests may be higher.
The price of a finished digital file is based on the post-production time and work involved to make it an outstanding image.
Two reasons. First, as a photographer I'm judged by my work, so I always watermark or frame the images denoting that they are proofs or RAW images. This tells others that they are unmodified and right out of the camera. As with a diamond, the raw state is much different from the finished cut and polished gem. Second, since I do release all the images (unlike many photographers), I like the images to be able to show who's work it is. At least I'm not one of those photographer's that blankets the image with copyright symbols or the words "Client proof" all up and down the image.
I try to accommodate your ideas, but trying to copy very specific looks and poses isn’t what I normally do. Allowing us to find the best poses and camera angles for your physique, face, overall look, and personality is usually the best way to go. Of course, the photography will always be within the boundaries you are comfortable with.
As far as I'm concerned the images are yours to do whatever you'd like with except sell them. You can use them as they are, you can edit them if you'd like, change them to black and white, whatever. I have one client that gets very creative with her editing, skewing colors, changing backgrounds, etc. Pretty cool. If you'd like to have them retouched let me know. My prices are listed in rates and packages. If you happen to have someone who would like to buy an image from you or someone you'd like to sell the image to, I usually only ask for 20%. Most model release forms are set for a 50/50 or 60/40 split, with the higher percentage going to the selling party. I have never sold a client image, so I don't require a release be signed, and I trust my clients to not sell the images without notifying me as the photographer owns the copyright to all images captured.
I will NOT post your photos unless you give me permission to do so or I see them in use.
See the RIP - Free Stuff link, in the Advertisements area for info on getting FREE retouches. Thanks for checking out FP AfterDark.
